We would like to thank all our partners and volunteers
for their support of the 3rd Annual Belle of the Ball
BACKGROUND: Sponsored by Anton’s Cleaners, a family-owned
chain of 43 stores in Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire,
Belle of the Ball provides free prom dresses to high school junior
and senior girls who otherwise would not attend their prom.
The collection drive ran from February 1st to April 16, 2007.
The goal was to collect ‘gently worn’ gowns, no more
than 3 – 4 years old, in a variety of styles and sizes.
A collection effort was set up with the aid of local high schools,
colleges and businesses small and large. Gowns were then dropped
off at any Anton’s Cleaners or Jordan’s Furniture
store locations. Dresses were cleaned free of charge at Anton’s
Cleaners stores throughout the area.
Since the program began in 2005, more than 450 girls have been
outfitted with beautiful dresses.
PROMOTIONAL PARTNERS: A Promotional Partner since
the program’s inception, FOX25 ran PSAs to promote the collection
drive and tagged all prom related stories with Belle of the Ball
mentions.
Community Newspaper Company aided in the collection efforts this
year by placing advertisements in all 120 of their daily and weekly
newspapers.
JAM’N 94.5 also served as a Promotional Partner, informing
local high school junior and senior girls about the benefits of
the program by airing PSAs.
CORPORATE PARTNER: Jordan’s Furniture joined
the Belle of the Ball program as a Corporate Partner, promoting
the collection drive at all four Jordan’s store locations
as well as through PSAs.
CORPORATE SPONSOR: NStar continued its commitment
to the Belle of the Ball as a Corporate Sponsor for the second
consecutive year, enabling efforts to enhance the overall program.
SUPPPORTING PARTNERS: Simmons College, Mary Lou
Andre’s dressingwell.com, Graham Communications and the
Junior League of Boston continued to provide invaluable services
that helped make the program a success.
